FIRST 2020 GENERAL MEETING: Friday, October 9th at 2:00pm via Zoom
The first step to becoming a voting member of the Western Oregon University chapter of YDSA is to become a member with DSA. You can follow the link below, select "Annual Membership" and the $20 "Student/YDSA" option.
Once our Treasurer has proof of your membership, you're in! You'll enjoy voting privileges, run for leadership positions within our chapter, sit on committees dedicated to immigrant rights, ecosocialist environmental organizing, and political education, or just hang out with comrades who will fight together to win a better future!
Join us for our weekly general meeting on Zoom for a lively discussion of socialism and our Chapter's goals for this year. We're fighting to cancel student debt, make WOU's financial decisions more democratic and equitable to the Monmouth student body, and win universal higher education for everyone, everywhere.
If your life would be better without crippling student debt, if you'd like to see the WOU administration invest money into students in Monmouth—not buildings in Salem or bloated administrative salaries—and win College for All, you're on the right website.
Join us at our next meeting.
Voting rights, civil rights, marriage equality, labor protections; none of it was won without mass movements fighting like hell for change. The civil rights movement wasn't passive. The Stonewall Riots weren't passive. Benevolent leaders don't hand down progress, we force it. Your future won't get better unless you fight for it, and we exist to get students engaged in that fight. Political organizing is hard work, but together we will build skills to better our lives, create lasting friendships build on mutual respect and solidarity, and ultimately build a better future. We will win.
