UPSC EXAM

Every year UPSC conducts the CIVIL SERVICES EXAM for the recruitment of officers who can serve the nation in different departments of the country as chief, chairman, secretaries and district collectors, etc. The selection process comprises of three stages,

  • PRELIMINARY

  • MAINS

  • INTERVIEW

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

Preliminary stage consists of two papers, General Studies (GS) & CSAT- civil services aptitude test. Every aspirant needs to qualify the preliminary test in order to appear for mains examination.

GS – PRELIMS General Studies has objective questions, which tests the understanding and the depth of knowledge in various subjects such as History, Economics, Polity, Science & Tech, Geography, Environment etc.

CSAT - It is an aptitude test that checks the basic numerical, reasoning and comprehensive skills of the candidate.

MAINS EXAMINATION

Every candidate who has qualified preliminary exam, are allowed to write main examination. It is a descriptive type examination which has five General Studies papers and two optional papers.

NOTE: Every candidate has to choose his/her own desired optional subjects from the list of options given by the UPSC. (SJC IAS Academy will certainly mentor the aspirants to wisely choose the optional subject in the course of study)

PERSONALITY TEST (INTRERVIEW)

Personality test or the interview is the final stage of the selection process. All the candidates who have been qualified in mains will be called for the personality test
