There are various exams through which one can enter into various higher institution for higher studies and research. It is not easy because it is not like regular exam. The main reason that these exams seems hard is the lack of understanding the syllabus. Most of the time we jump our of the syllabus to explore the subject and lack of practice. It is very important to practice according to the syllabus. So for that reason here are some important information and previous year problems to practice for some important exams.

IIT-JAM Physics (Joint Admission test for M.Sc.,)

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are institutions of national importance established through an Act of Parliament. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is a premier research and teaching institute established in 1909. The IISc Bangalore & IITs are well known, the world over, for quality education in engineering, science, management and research in frontier areas. The aim of these institutes is to build a sound foundation of knowledge, pursue excellence and enhance creativity in an intellectually stimulating environment.

The objective of JAM is to provide admissions to M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other Post-Bachelor Degree Programmes at the IITs and the Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at IISc and to consolidate Science as a career option for bright students from across the country.

CSIR-UGC NET (National eligibility test)

The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research. The Test is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) conducts the UGC-CSIR NET for other Science subjects, namely, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth Atmospheric Ocean & Planetary Sciences jointly with the UGC. The tests are conducted twice a year generally in the months of June and December. For candidates who desire to pursue research, the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is available for five years subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions. UGC has allocated a number of fellowships to the universities for the candidates who qualify for the test for JRF. The JRFs are awarded to the meritorious candidates from among the candidates qualifiying for eligibility for lectureship in the NET. JRFs are available only to the candidates who opt for it in their application forms. The test for Junior Research Fellowship is being conducted since 1984. The Government of India, through its notification dated 22nd July, 1988 entrusted the task of conducting the eligibility test for lectureship to UGC. Consequently, UGC conducted the first National Eligibility Test, common to both eligibility for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship in two parts, that is, in December 1989 and in March , 1990.
