Q&A from first generation students
What do I do when I need help in a class?
Take advantage of your Professor's office hours to ask questions. Office hours are designed so that students can ask questions one on one with their Professor and gain a better understanding of the class content. Going to office hours also helps Professors get to know you better and will get the impression that you are a hard worker and want to succeed.
Email is a key way to contact professors.
Another option is to take advantage of tutoring services on campus. Here is the link to Nazareth College's tutoring services page: https://www2.naz.edu/center-student-success/tutoring-learning-lab-and-other-resources . Shortly after you sign up Tutoring Services will contact you in regards to a tutor for that particular class.
Print out the syllabus for each class/course in order to ascertain the grading scale for each class as well as what percentage of your grade each assignment is worth.
