There are RAs in each area every night when the residence halls are open. RA desk hours are used to ensure the safety and well-being of students in the residence halls, and for the RAs to build connections with the residents in their area. Building walks are a great way to get to know residents better!
RAs will report to the RA desk in their area (i.e. Kearney, Lourdes, OC, CTC, George). Larger areas will have two RAs on duty on Fridays and Saturdays. While working, RAs are expected to wear Residential Life attire, including nametags, so they are easily identifiable by residents, campus safety, etc.
RAs will sign on at 8pm through eRezLife. The form prompts will change, but generally you will be asked to take some type of photo to indicate that you are present. After 12:30am (Sunday-Thursday) or 2am (Friday & Saturday), RAs will remain in the residence hall until 7am the next day.
RAs will carry their personal phone, the walkie, and iPad with them on building walks and while sitting at the duty box. RAs will conduct three walks of the building(s) in their area on weeknights and four on the weekends. These walks will be documented through logs, which are sent to Vicky and the building supervisor.
There is a specific chain of command and course of action that RAs should take when responding to incidents. Please review the incident matrix below for information about the types of incidents you may encounter, and how to respond. In many cases, RAs will call the GRD/AD on duty and campus safety to take over the incident. RAs should be familiar with campus policies in order to assess situations appropriately.

Sign-on Form
Bulletin Board Submissions
Duty Log
Program Proposals & Evaluations
Other Housing Forms
*Each area has their own links and log-in information for these forms, which can be found on your building's webpage
You will submit a program proposal before hosting programs (using the form on eRezLife). You will submit a program evaluation after hosting programs (using the form on eRezLife). You are welcome to collaborate, but you must host at least one individual program per semester. Programs should be 2 hours or more in length.
This is the campus-wide programming calendar, where you can see who is hosting events & when! We encourage you to stop by and support each other's programs.
You can purchase supplies for your programs using the designated P-card for your area, or through Amazon by contacting your supervisor. To maximize your budget, you should check the inventory before making purchases because there are tons of leftover supplies in the resource room. Reach out to AD Cindy if you have any questions.
Sign out the P-card - the P-card binders are located in the RA Hub. Locate your building’s corresponding binder, and sign out the card by writing your information into the log on the first page.
Take the P-card and a copy of the tax exempt form with you to the retailer. It is processed as a credit card.
If you are going to Walmart, take the Walmart tax exempt card and show it to them before they begin scanning items (otherwise, they will have to start over).
If you are going to Wegmans, take BOTH of the Wegmans shopper cards (green and white) with you. If you only have one Wegmans card, the transaction cannot be processed.
KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS. When you get back to campus, return the P-card and tax exempt form to the binder, sign it back in using the log on the first page, and enter the receipt. To enter a receipt, take a sheet from the top of the black plastic shelves and add it into the back of the binder. Fill in the information (RA name, date, program title, purpose of program, and purchase amount) and staple your receipt to the sheet.
The card must be returned within the same day, and at the time you scheduled on the P-card calendar.
