About
Wesley Library
On this page, you may find information about services provided by Wesley Library. What's more, people in the library and our mission!
Located on 1/F in the school building, Wesley Library is a hub of student activity at The MCHK Wesley College. The library provide materials and an environment to support learning and teaching as an information centre in school. Librarians help students develop various literacy and research skills to locate, evaluate, and apply information.
In line with one of the four key tasks of EDB curriculum development - Reading to learn, we motivate learners to learn through reading as a whole school culture with a number of school-based reading schemes and activities. Yearly events, such as the Buddy Book day, Reading Fun Fair and Book Crossing, are well-loved by our students and teachers.
Our school believes that education is holistic, embracing spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic development. In Wesley Library, our mission is to be not only a room to store books but to become a self-initiated interactive learning commons.
Our library offers:
More than 17000 paper books
More than 400 films on DVD
Multiple databases for ebooks
Four daily newspapers
More than 20 local and international magazines
Four discussion tables for individual or collaborative work
Multiple charging stations for personal devices
An open space with seats to hold seminars or movie-screening
This website serves as a virtual learning commons (VLC), where you can access our library catalog, databases, and ebook collection online 24 hours a day. Most importantly, the site also displays a wide range of students' work and engages students in reading schemes.
