Founded on May 1, 1989 at the University of Minnesota, Alpha Sigma Kappa – Women in Technical Studies was created by women in STEM who sought sisterhood and support after the Triangle Fraternity ended its Little Sisters program. Built on the values of academic excellence and empowerment, ΑΣΚ has since grown into a national sorority uniting women in STEM fields across the U.S.
Our name is more than just our Greek letters. The "Women in Technical Studies" emphasizes our goal of academic achievement. While we are a social sorority, we are unique because we focus on technical majors.
