Speakers will drop out throughout the planning process for a wide range of reasons. Building a sense of community and belonging among your symposium participants helps reduce the chance that speakers drop out. To build a sense of community, hold regular speaker meetings to support your invited speakers and check in regularly with your invited speakers. Doing so also lets you know quickly if a speaker needs to drop out.
Find more tips at the page on what to do when a speaker drops out.
Learn more about the ICB submission and publication process at the page "From presentation to paper".
Consider surveying the presenters invited to your symposium to get their ideas about what are important topics and challenges.
An example survey and template invitation email are available.
