University High School is recognized for its use of the 40 Books Program, a program in which students read a book a month for each of their four school years. These texts were selected to reflect a diverse range of genres, topics, and authors. Each text will be the foundation for an exploration of concepts and practice of skills.
There is a rigorous expectation for students self-accountability as it pertains to maintaining consistency with their reading. I will provide structure and suggestions for student pacing as we read through these books together this year, students are expected to self-monitor, and self-advocate if they need additional help while reading.
