I am originally from Atlanta, GA. I decided to pursue School Counseling as a career after spending one year after college as an AmeriCorps volunteer within the Atlanta Public School system through the nonprofit organization, Hands on Atlanta.
I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I obtained my school counseling Masters degree in Education from the University of West Georgia. Within a year of graduating, I pursued and obtained my Specialist degree in Education from Georgia State University.
I worked as a part-time School Counselor in Cobb County after I graduated from West Georgia for one school year before becoming a Flat Rock Middle School Eagle. I have been a School Counselor for 16 years, and 15 of those years have been at Flat Rock!!

I am from this area originally and a native of Georgia. I was the second person on my dad's side of the family to attend college so I know firsthand the benefits of a quality education. I grew up on a farm and learned the value of hard work, growing things, and solving problems, in a caring community. These life lessons and 30 years in the field have shaped me as a Counselor/Educator.
My wife, Brenda, and I have two grown sons. Nathan and Noah. We enjoy being outdoors, travelling, fishing, art and playing music.
Fun Fact: I was ping pong champion at my high school.

It’s important for every student to have a "BIG DREAM" and connect that to a career that they may like to do in the future! My goal as School Counselor is to help students achieve their fullest potential!
