Wilmington Early College High School Liaison
Wilmington Early College High School (WECHS) is a North Carolina Cooperative Innovative High School (CIHS) and is located on Cape Fear Community College's (CFCC) North Campus.
CFCC partners with WECHS, to provide New Hanover County School students the opportunity to complete an associate degree program, diploma, certificate, or earn up to two years of college credit while completing their high school diploma.
WECHS is a New Hanover County High School, and is not a department of CFCC. However, New Hanover County Schools and CFCC both work together to promote WECHS' mission.
WECHS students may qualify to remain enrolled at WECHS for five years, in order to fulfill high school requirements.
The role of the WECHS Liaison is to assist students in thier the transition from secondary school to the community college setting and is the assigned CFCC academic advisor for all WECHS students.

New Hanover County Schools (NHCS) determine WECHS eligibility requirements and oversees the application process.
Interested 8th-grade students and their families should contact their middle school counselor or refer to NHCS Specialty High Schools & Programs online information for guidance on the WECHS admissions process.
WECHS students are eligible to enroll in:
a.) One College Transfer program of study; OR
b.) One College Transfer program of study and one Career and Technical Education program of study; OR
c.) Two Career and Technical Education programs of study.

Students considering applying to WECHS may find it helpful to tour CFCC's campus. Registration for scheduled tours is necessary to ensure that appropriate staff will be available to answer questions.
