Learn about ESL at City College of San Francisco
In this course, students will learn how to use Google Drive and apps such as Google docs, Google slides, Google forms and Google sheets. Students will create a portfolio of work in Google Drive. They will use Google docs to type what they hear in dictations. They will use slides to tell their classmates something about their cultures, traditions, hobbies, or life experiences. Students will use Google Forms to ask their classmates for information. Students will then organize the information they learn about their classmates in charts.
Students will also study vocabulary and use that vocabulary in online discussions with classmates.
This course is hybrid. That means that the course is online and in person. Students learn online in Canvas but they can also come in person for extra help from the teacher and more opportunities to speak and collaborate with classmates. Assignments will be completed online and submitted to the teacher on Canvas. If students can't come to the in person meetings, they can still complete the course online. The teacher will participate in online discussions with students, provide feedback on assignments and be available to answer questions on Zoom by appointment.
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
