Comparison of selected Asian, African, European and Latino groups in the United States from colonial times to the present. Students examine and compare economic, social, and cultural contributions of immigrant communities; evaluate immigration and naturalization policies; and discuss issues of acculturation and ethnic identity.
This course is designed to meet the AA-T, Cal-GETC Areas 3B, 4; CCSF U.S. History & Government Graduation Requirement; CSU American Institutions US-1. HIST 9 is intentionally modeled to match and fulfill transfer requirements for students intending to transfer to U.C. Berkeley.
This course meets requirements for the following degrees: History AA-T; Social Justice Studies: Ethnic Studies AA-T; Liberal Arts & Humanities AA; Social Sciences and Behavioral Sciences AS.
