Instructor Caroline Priestley

Welcome!

Thank you for taking an interest in the courses I teach! As your instructor, I'm looking forward to exploring the English language with you and to helping you achieve your educational and personal goals.

I believe that learning should be engaging and exciting. I hope to communicate my enthusiasm for language and for teaching to you!

Here's a video in which I talk about the importance of grammar.

About Me

I've been at City College since 2008, and I've been teaching ESL for over thirty years! I'm originally from the United Kingdom, but I've lived and taught in several countries including Turkey, Japan, Jordan, and Zambia. I'm passionate about teaching and about language, and I feel extremely lucky to have a job in which I can do what I love every day. In my free time, I'm an astronomy docent in Sonoma, and my favorite way to relax is riding horses in the hills and mountains of Marin County or hiking (preferably with my friends' dogs!)
