This course is fully-online and 'asynchronous'. That means it is on Canvas only, and you can do the work when it fits in your schedule. You will need a computer, tablet or smart phone and access to the Internet.
The purpose of this class is to prepare you to succeed in credit ESL courses. You will:
practice reading, understanding and responding to academic texts.
develop your academic vocabulary.
write different kinds of paragraphs and summaries.
improve your academic grammar and sentence structure.
learn about resources available to you at City College.
