This course is remote. That means that we meet on Zoom three times a week. Additional work is done independently in Canvas. You can do the work in Canvas when it fits in your schedule each week. You will need a computer, tablet or smart phone and access to the Internet.
The purpose of this class is to prepare you to succeed in credit ESL courses. You will:
Use a variety of beginning academic reading and vocabulary development strategies to interpret literary and informational texts.
Compose paragraphs using beginning academic writing strategies, language structures, and vocabulary.
Employ beginning academic listening and speaking strategies to participate in academic settings.
Identify and use college resources to support academic work.
