TRST 3348 Academic Writing 2

Course Information

This is an advanced writing course with an emphasis on argumentative essay writing. First drafts will focus on crafting well-defined thesis statements supported by integrated evidence. We practice summarizing, paraphrasing and directly quoting outside source material.  Much of our practice will be at the paragraph level before we proceed to complete essays. Final drafts are revised for organization and unity and edited for clarity, precision and presentation. We use various methods and tools to communicate each week, including written discussion boards, audio and video posts.

Students who complete the course with a passing grade earn 5 Core English credits for the City College of San Francisco High School Diploma Program.
