Introduction to Public Speaking

Course Information

Public speaking is one of the main communication skills desired by employers and it can help you be a better, more informed and critical listener.  Public speaking is also valuable in an academic setting due to the research, organization, and presentation skills which are integral to itLike other skills, it is learn through practice and emulation, which is not imitation or copying someone, but is following a general model. We will notice what other speakers do well and try to incorporate those strategies until you find what works best for you. 

Important Dates

Beginning and Ending Dates for Fall 2021:  Monday, August 16 - Wednesday, December 15

This class is normally taught in person; however, due to Covid restriction is being taught remotely for the Fall 2021 semester.  Virtual class meetings take place on CityZoom on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 AM - 12 PM.
