Students who have passed MATH 45 - Preparation for Statistics are eligible for MATH 80 - Probability and Statistics. If you have passed MATH 45 or you pass MATH 45 this semester, you are encouraged to continue along the sequence and enroll in MATH 80 - Probability and Statistics. Alternatively, some students can satisfy their transfer requirement by taking ECON 5 - Introductor Statistics or PSYC 5 - Psych Statistics.
If you are currently taking MATH 45 and fail it, note that the following changes in placement apply to you:
So what should you do if you fail MATH 45? Talk to your instructor for more specific guidance, but in general you have three options:
Also note that some students may satisfy their statistics requirement by taking PSYC 5 - Psych Statistics or ECON 5 - Introductory Statistics. As these courses are in separate departments, they may have separate placement rules. However, all students who have passed MATH 45, MATH 46 or MATH 60 are eligible for PSYC 5 and ECON 5.
