Students who have passed MATH 43 - Preparation for Liberal Arts Math are eligible for MATH 70 - Liberal Arts Math. If you have passed MATH 43 or you pass MATH 43 this semester, you are encouraged to continue along the sequence and enroll in MATH 70.

If you are currently taking MATH 43 and fail it, note that the following changes in placement apply to you:

• All students are eligible for MATH 70 - Liberal Arts Math

So what should you do if you fail MATH 43? Talk to your instructor for more specific guidance, but in general you have two options:

• Retake MATH 43 (this is a two-semester pathway to transfer, but you would be better prepared when you take MATH 70 after passing MATH 43)
• Take MATH 70 (this is a shorter, one-semester pathway to transfer, but MATH 70 is more challenging than MATH 43)

All students who have questions regarding which math class to take are encouraged to speak with their current math instructor (if they have one), the Math Advising Coordinator, or a counselor so that they can make an informed decision.
