About

I joined the CCSF community as a librarian in 1999.  I spend most of my time on Ocean campus at the Alice Statler Library, a hard-to-find specialized library devoted to culinary arts and hospitality.  Once you find this gem of a library, you will always return.

In addition to running "the Alice" and working with student interested in food and hotels,  I teach LIS 10, the one-unit, online class that guides students through the research process  and reinforces information competency skills. Learning critical skills  to navigate the ever-changing information landscape is so important, not only in school but in life.  I really enjoy my job, especially teaching students how to find and evaluate information. I am inspired by students transforming themselves through education. CCSF is full of inspiring students!

I also support the college as the Student Affairs SLO Coordinator and enjoy participating in college committee work outside of the library. Currently, I  am a member of the Accreditation Steering Committee, the  Academic Senate  SLO Committee, and two workgroups, one supporting student service outcomes and the other reviewing course outline distance education addenda.  Working on initiatives outside the library  allows me  to learn more about the college outside of my day to day job,  so I am more able to support students and the college goal of student success! Committee work also gives me the opportunity to represent and advocate for the library.

Aside from life at City College,  I love live music and festivals, traveling around the planet, skiing, hiking, camping, good food, and, of course,  good books.
