The Great Strawberry Heist is a 2D vertical platformer built for the arcade cabinet that follows the clash of two unlikely foes. In this game, the player, a mischievous hamster, has its eyes set on getting a bite out of the bright red strawberry sitting atop the towering dessert, belonging to a terrifying cat.
I helped create, test, and design the levels in the Great Strawberry Heist. The player is meant to go from the bottom of the cake to the top, getting harder as the game goes on. The player is introduced to many obstacles along the way, as well as collectable fruit to increase their score. My main role when it came to design was placing the collectable fruit along the levels. I had to make sure to give the player enough collectables for it to feel rewarding to full loot every cake layer, but not enough to overwhelm the player.
Another one of my tasks was taking the art/sprites the artists drew, and putting them into unity using the animator. This was a learning experience for me as it was my first time experiencing using sprite sheets, and the animator in unity.
