This week, students will evaluate clinical case studies of metabolic illnesses to design and construct a tactile or digital therapeutic restaurant menu. The menu must synthesize specific ratios of the 4 macromolecules (carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids) as "treatments," measured by a rubric requiring 100% accuracy in matching macromolecule functions to the physiological needs identified in 3 distinct case studies.
As always, please keep track of your student's work on our official Google Classroom page!
Students are being made aware of the nutrition they gain from the foods they eat everyday. After having watched documentaries on fast food, students are now able to articulate the significance and downsides of a diet made up of high saturated fats and sugar.
This week, the ACLA Baseball team will be playing in their final regular season showdown against our neighborhood rivals in Bushwick Campus/EBC.
Weather permitting, the game will be taking place on the McCarren Park: PO Gilroy Field #3 on May 12th at 4:00 PM.
Practice will be taking place from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM everyday where there is no game scheduled.
Should you have any concerns, please reach out to Mr. Oyuela or the main office.
