Hi everyone! My name is Jenna Jordan, and I am currently a graduate student in the School Psychology program at Adelphi. This year, I am completing my internship year, during which I was asked to step into the role of a leave replacement under an internship certificate at my current district. This now leads me to my current role as a Therapeutic Skills School Psychologist.
I graduated with my undergraduate degree in psychology from Adelphi, and then transitioned right into the School Psych program. From a young age, I had an idea of what I wanted to do, and as I learned more about the field, it intrigued me more. Growing up in a family of educators, I knew I wanted to be in the school system, but I did not exactly want to be a teacher. I knew I wanted to ensure every student had equal access to education while also helping them become better versions of themselves. My goal as a school psychologist is to advocate for and help students achieve both of those aspects in the education world.
Regarding technology, I use it every day. Whether it is in counseling sessions, parent trainings, or even CSE meetings. I feel pretty comfortable with technology, and it definitely helps with my day-to-day tasks as a school psychologist, including data tracking and note-taking.
Outside of being a school psychologist, I really enjoy running and spending time with my dogs. I previously played college basketball at Manhattan College and Adelphi University, so I enjoy playing basketball for fun occasionally now.
