Classroom Rules Agreement
Welcome to our English Language Arts classroom! This room is a shared learning space where everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported. The following rules explain what is expected of you and what behaviors are not acceptable.
By being in this classroom, you agree to follow these rules every day.
✅ What IS Accepted in This Classroom
Respect for Everyone
Treat your teacher, classmates, and yourself with respect at all times. This includes words, tone, body language, and actions.
Appropriate Language Only
Use school-appropriate language at all times. This means no profanity, insults, slurs, or inappropriate jokes in any language.
English will be used for instruction and class discussions unless otherwise directed, and all languages must be used respectfully.
Active Participation
Come prepared, stay engaged, and try your best. Participation looks different for everyone, but effort is always expected.
Listening and Speaking Respectfully
Raise your hand, wait your turn, and listen when others are speaking. Different opinions are welcome disrespect is not.
Academic Honesty
Do your own work. Cheating, copying, or plagiarism is not acceptable.
Responsibility
Bring required materials, complete assignments, and follow directions the first time they are given.
🚫 What Is NOT Allowed in This Classroom
Disrespectful Behavior
No bullying, teasing, put-downs, threats, or harassment of any kind.
Inappropriate Language
No swearing, offensive comments, or inappropriate language spoken or written, in any language.
Disruptions to Learning
Talking out of turn, excessive noise, wandering the room, or behavior that interrupts teaching or learning is not allowed.
Phone or Device Misuse
Phones and devices may only be used when permitted by the teacher.
Refusal to Follow Directions
Arguing, talking back, or ignoring instructions is unacceptable.
