Mahwah Public Schools are well-maintained, but the time has come for us to replace and upgrade the systems and structures that keep our schools running. Proposed improvements would benefit all six schools in the district. State aid, which is available with voter approval, would offset the project costs.

On March 10, Mahwah voters will decide whether to invest in large-scale improvements that would update HVAC systems at all our schools, improve our facilities, add dedicated gymnasium space to Betsy Ross, George Washington, the High School, and more.
If voters approve the referendum on March 10, Mahwah will receive $28.1 million in state aid toward the project costs. This is money already paid to the state that can only return to Mahwah if the referendum is approved.

If voters approve the referendum on March 10, Betsy Ross Elementary will gain a new gymnasium and media center that would ease its space crunch and move classrooms out of the current trailers. With voter approval, this addition would ensure all Mahwah Public Schools students have the same access to learning resources.
If voters approve the referendum on March 10, Mahwah High School will receive a renovated auditorium and a second gymnasium that would modernize spaces dating back to the 1950s. With voter approval, these upgrades and new turf fields would ensure our facilities safely and effectively serve both students and the community.
