Recommendation Criteria for Honors Mathematics Courses from RR to MHS
1. Unit test average of 90% for the 1st and 2nd marking periods in present academic course.
2. Recommendation of the current mathematics teacher.
3. Demonstrates proficient levels of the Habits of Mind as indicated in the Standards for Mathematical Practice

Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.
Model with mathematics.
Use appropriate tools strategically.

Look for and make use of structure.

Waiver Criteria from RR to MHS
Students who meet specific criteria may waive into a higher level course. One waiver is permitted per year for incoming Grade 9 students.
Has earned at least a cumulative average of 88 at the time of recommendation (including the 1st and 2nd marking periods) but did not receive recommendation from his/her teacher for the next level honors level.
