Thai Classical Music

Despite the common belief, I actually can (rather used to) play most of the Thai classical music instruments, including Piang-or flute (ขลุ่ยเพียงออ), Lib flute (ขลุ่ยหลิบ), Major Xylophone (ระนาดเอก), Bass Xylophone (ระนาดทุ้ม), Gong (ฆ้องวงใหญ่), Bass Violin (ซออู้), Ja-ke Guitar (จะเข้), Twin drums (กลองแขก), and Tone-Rammana drums (โทน-รำมะนา). My most favorite instruments are the Piang-or flute and the Major Xylophone. The main difference between playing Thai classical music and traditional western music is that you can't read the music score sheets while playing. This forces you to memorize every single music note and practice for several times until those melodies are absorbed by your muscle brain. After 7 years of constantly practicing Thai classical music during my middle-high schools, I believe it somehow helped me to memorize and recall small details in my life fairly accurately.

I love going to places, working with different people, seeing strange things, and embracing diverse cultural experiences. I prefer natural sites to cities, but sometimes you can't be picky.

Art

I grew fond of sketching and painting since I was a child. Though my artistic skills are not extraordinary, I find it soothing to portray my imagination on a piece of paper.

Netflix

I spend a majority of my free time (which is already scarce) watching Netflix series. I love a wide spectrum of TV shows, especially those that expose me to different perspectives of thinking/life that I don't already know. Some of my favorite TV shows include Dexter, 24, South Park, The Originals, House of Cards, Mad Men, Orange if the New Black, How I Met Your Mother, Burn Notice, Suits, Black List, etc.

Games

I can easily get addicted to two genres of games: RPG and Slash-and-Dash. Examples include Final Fantasy Series, ChronoCross, Ninja Gaiden, Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, etc. Now since I have started my full-time career as a college professor, the consoles have been put back in the boxes.

Sports

Besides active sports such as Squash and Ping Pong, I also like hiking a lot. It allows me to touch the nature after hours of working in front of a computer.
