4th Grade Lunch & Recess Link:

4th Grade Lunch/RecessDear Magellan Parents, We rely on families to volunteer for Lunch/Recess Supervision at least once a month per child at Magellan. This relieves our teachers, so they may have their lunch and planning time. Your support and active participation is a huge part of what makes Magellan the BEST school. Thank you for your commitment! Important Reminders: * 4th Grade Lunch is from 11:00am to 11:30am. Recess is from 11:30am to 12:00pm. Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled slot to allow time to check in at the front office. * RAFT (Reading As Fun Time) will extend the volunteer time on Mondays. The volunteer time each Monday is 10:30am-12:00pm. We ask that you cover at least one RAFT each semester. * Please prioritize your child's homeroom if there are spots open. It is totally fine (and very much appreciated) for parents to cover a different homeroom if we are having trouble getting a spot filled. If you are covering a different homeroom, your child may eat lunch in that room with you. * Background checks are required at Magellan. You may send a family member in your place, but the main office must run a background check prior to volunteering. * We ask that cell phones are not used by parent volunteers while supervising students. * Recess is outside unless inclement weather occurs. Please plan accordingly. * If unable to make your scheduled sign-up, it is important for the safety of the students that you find a replacement for that time slot. The “swap” feature is active on Sign-up Genius (you must be signed into your account to see the swap button next to your name). * If you’re running late or have an emergency that requires a last minute cancellation, please call the main office as soon as possible: 919-844-0277
