Our programmes addresses different issues from addiction post-rehabilitation consolidation, mental health attention (anxiety disorder, depression, burn out,, compassion fatigue...), and vocational challenges. Our programmes are normally taking place over a period of 12 weeks, which can be done within the frame-time of a tourist visa in Kenya..
Bethany Centre works closely with some Rehabilitation Centres and can offer a post-rehabilitation programme to consolidate skills and newly obtained determination to maintain sobriety. Here is a typical programme:
Anybody can be confronted with some mental health challenges. Due to work environment, personal history, stress factors, etc. each person reacts in a unique way. Unfortunately, it can at time generate much suffering and many mental struggles which require a particular attention and assistance to be overcome. Bethany Centre offers to people in need competent psychological counselling and psychotherapies adapted to each person. Different types of intervention are offered: Person-Centered Psychotherapy, Cognitivo-Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic and systemic approach. Different challenges can be addressed such as anxiety disorders, depression, grieving process, trauma focused intervention, etc. People needing a more medical intervention and pharmacological support can be offered this opportunity with some psychiatrist in Nairobi.
Priests and religious men and women are at time confronted with some vocational challenges. Often it is for them a motive of shame and they dread to disclose their struggles and challenges fearing being judged or rejected. Fortunately, the holy scriptures tell us that struggles and challenges are part of human spiritual experience. They also teach us that other people can help to overcome these more difficult times. The staff of Bethany Centre is trained and has extensive experience in religious life and formation. All our personal are trained spiritual counsellors who will help in this particular journey.
