Adoptable Mindy is doing amazing in her foster home! She loves to go on adventures around town or snuggle up with her foster parents. She is house trained, good with other dogs, and TBD on the resident cat 😻 The shelter had Mindy listed as 8 years old but we all agree she is probably more like 5-6 years. She’s a great size at 50ish lbs and is currently doing great in an apartment setting! Mindy came from South LA where her heroes advocated for her rescue (and even connected us with her amazing foster mama). It’s time for Mindy to have the happily ever after she deserves! Apply to adopt her today 🩵

Adorable meatball Steve came to us from a shelter with a very high euthanasia rate and we couldn't be happier to be a part of his journey to a forever family. Steve is special needs because he is hearing impaired - but that doesn't stop him from living his best life! Steve is a bubbly, playful guy. He does well with a dog companion that is hearing so he knows when to respond to commands. This little fellow is a pretty typical bulldog, so can be a bit stubborn at times but he is so cute you can't help but love him. Steve would do well in a home with bulldog experienced owners - but as far as bulldogs go, he's pretty easy breezy! He's a small bulldog making him a portable friend for all of your adventures.

Looking for a lovable running buddy who is potty-trained, crate trained, and dog/kid friendly?? Look no further! Adoptable Althea is only about 1-1.15 years old. She is absolutely stunning white with brown brindle patches. This mixed breed gal will have you thinking of kangaroos as she bounds around the yard. No yard? No problem! Althea would be an AMAZING running buddy who can keep up with the best of them. This girl was rescued in the nick of time from euthanasia at Riverside. She would do well in just about any home provided she gets enough exercise! Though she may be a little too bouncy for the youngest joeys out there, she would do great with dog savvy and/or older kiddos.

Eleanor

The sweetest smoosh on three legs, Eleanor Moonglade, is FINALLY ready to find her forever home. She is getting spayed next week and then she can head off to her happily ever after 🥹❤️‍🩹 Eleanor was urgent at Riverside after being found in abhorrent conditions. Her leg was mangled beyond repair and she had clearly been living like that for some time 💔 Riverside took care of her amputation but we knew she needed to get out ASAP. Our wonderful friends at @sandiegoanimalsanctuary picked her up for us and gave so much love until we could bring her in. Well, since then she has learned to trust, gained a lot of weight, has shown she can easily navigate any adventure on three legs, and has done wonderfully with other dogs. She is truly a magical creature and we know anyone would be lucky to have her 🥹 Eleanor is house trained (with regular potty breaks), crate trained, about 2 years old, and 45 lbs. Apply to adopt Eleanor today!

Remy (formerly Chato of East Valley Shelter in Los Angeles) is a big sweetheart. He was terribly frightened during his time at the shelter and has been so happy to be living in his wonderful foster home. He has an adorably big overbite and a very slight cleft palate, both of which add to his charm. Remy does well with large and small dogs, and has been learning basic training with his foster mom - where he has proven to be a quick learner! Remy loves to play as much as he loves to snuggle on the sofa. Do you have some extra room for this hunk in your heart?

Adoptable Archie (fka Perry at Harbor Shelter) is such a good boy! He’s about 50 lbs, neutered, up to date on vaccines, house trained, crate trained, good with people, and good with dogs! He’s about 2 years old and spent almost half of his life at the shelter 💔 But he’s with us now and looking for his forever family! He has puppy energy sometimes so will need basic training (like all dogs) but he’s sweet as can be and just loves to be loved!

Maude

Maude is an absolute sweetheart of a dog. She is very gentle and very sweet, but can be timid with people. She definitely gains her confidence from other dogs and is very nurturing and sweet with them. Maude seems to be house trained, has done well in a crate, is relaively low maintence, and just needs someone to love her forever. This girl is really special and she deserves the best, most loving home. We don't know anything about Maude's history, but given her timidity with people it seems like she has not been shown much kindness until recently. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body.

Mork arrived at the South LA shelter nearly one year ago with his buddy Mindy (also in our rescue). We were able to rescue Mindy in Fall 2023 when she became urgent with an upper respiratory infection. She and Mork had already been separated at the shelter due to kennel stress in their shared space. When Mork became urgent at the shelter, we knew we had to help him make his grand exit as well. Mork is a calm, sweet, and funny guy that really just wants nothing more than time sunning himself in the yard, short walks around the neighborhood, and a comfy spot on the couch. He gets along well with female dogs and can be selective with male dogs - but does well in general with calmer dogs. Mork is a super sweet senior guy and deserves all the wonderful things in life during his golden years. Can you be his forever found?

Wren

Sweet Wren is finally ready to start looking for her forever home!! Wren came to us from Harbor Shelter where she was very scared and given the name “Skitzee” 💔. One of the kennel staff worked diligently to gain her trust and truly helped get her on the road to recovery. Wren is very shy with people at first but WONDERFUL with other dogs. So we will insist that she go to a home with another pup as it really brings her happiness and confidence. When Wren first got here, she didnt even want to be touched and now she solicits pets all the time 😍 She will need an experienced adopter who will give her lots of time and patience to blossom 🌸 We promise she is worth it ❤️‍🩹 Wren is about 2 years old, 40ish lbs, and ready for her forever! Apply to adopt petite Wren today!

Levi came to us from the Corona Animal Shelter in Corona, CA. At the time, he was the shelter’s longest resident and no one could understand why! He is so dog friendly, the shelter staff relied on Levi (fka Oreo) for his social skills to test new dogs. This lovable guy is just as sweet as can be. He wants nothing more than to be loved and he is gentle with everyone. Levi is about 6-7 years young; with his puppy years behind him he has the perfect mix of active dog and couch potato. He is incredibly handsome but doesn’t let that get to his head :) Levi was in the shelter for 7 months and has been with our rescue for about two months now. It’s definitely time for him to have the stability, comfort, and love that a forever home can bring. Levi is about 6-7 years old, neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and about 65-70 lbs.

The Fantastic Beasts are ready for their forever homes! These puppies were born late May 2023. They were rescued with their mama (Dobby) from deplorable conditions at a shelter that was shut down by authorities in Mexico. The rescue effort was coordinated by The Animal Pad and we are very grateful to have helped in a small way. Hedwig is the an adorable and sweet little gal. She is plafyul, confident, and a lovebug. We expect she will be between 20-30 lbs when she is full grown.

Pearl girl is truly a gem of a dog! She started out as a bit of a diamond in the rough when she found herself at Riverside shelter with her two young puppies. Her babies were quickly adopted but no one came for Pearl :( She was underweight, had substantial hairless, and had clearly been neglected and overbred most of her young life. But now Pearl is looking better than ever and ready for her happily ever after. Pearl is about 3-5 years old, has fur that feels like peach fuzz, and wants nothing more than to be your sidekick in life. She is quiet (not sure we've ever heard her bark!), petite (just less than 40 lbs), is housebroken, and great with other dogs. She is mostly calm, but does show a playful side on occasion. Her biggest drawback is that her teeth tell the story of the hard life she has lead. But she recently had them cleaned up and feeling much better. Pearl has so much love to give and so much life left to lead. Will you be her family for life?

Tammy came to Mad Mutts from the South LA/Chesterfield Square shelter, part of the City of Los Angeles’ animal services. At the shelter, she was suffering from an upper respriatory infection which limited her interaction with the general public. When she came to us, her URI had more or less cleared up and we quickly learned what “Big Tammy Energy” was :) Tammy has a je ne sais quoi that is distinctly her own. Her appearance might lead you to believe she is a tough cookie - but really she is a soft baked sugar cookie oozing with sweetness. Tammy is a confident cookie and does well with most dogs, though would prefer to be the only girl boss (other confident females are not her thing). She is a comical potato and loves to be loved. She really just wants to go for a quick jaunt outside and then relax with you on the sofa. Tammy is about 2.5-3 years old, spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, about 50 lbs, and full of BTE (Big Tammy Energy).

Nala

Adoptable Nala is a three year old 40lb pit mix with the most adorable underbite and smooshed face. Fully crate trained, she eats her meals/sleeps/hangs out in there with no issues. Does well with other dogs including her foster sister who is around the same size. Very chill and a big night time snuggler. She loves to chew on bones, but soft toys are her absolute favorite. Doing well with potty training so far! Like all dogs from the shelter, Nala would benefit from basic training but she’s already got so much going for her! Nala is the recipient of an Angel Grant from @standupforpitsfoundation for which we are so grateful! Would you like to be the lucky family to have this girl join your family?
