We are very lucky to have a carline at KRS! Please follow the rules so we do not lose this privilege!
2025-26 update: Due to the ongoing construction at KRS, there will be minimal space at the bottom of the hill for parents to congregate.
Arrival time is 8:30 AM
Students may arrive no earlier than 8:30 AM and should proceed directly to their classrooms. Staff will be outside to greet students. There is no supervision prior to 8:30 AM.
Dismissal time is 3:15 PM
Kindergarten students will dismiss 5-10 minutes before dismissal.
Students who are walking home will dismiss on time.
Students being picked up in carline will dismiss about 5 minutes later.
Note: If you are arriving late or picking up your child early, please proceed to the Main Office and ring the doorbell. The other entrances are locked and not monitored after the second bell at 8:35 AM.

🕗 ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
Earliest Arrival: 8:30 AM (no supervision prior to 8:30)
Tardy After: 8:35 AM
Students should go directly to their classrooms upon arrival and line up outside their room
Drop-Off Car Line: Please remain in your vehicle—this line is for quick drop-offs only.
🚪 DESIGNATED ENTRANCES (To Reduce Congestion)
All students must use the new front stairs to enter and exit the school. Students and families should never be in the parking lot.
Kindergarten Enter through Kindergarten playground/garden door (via front stairs)
Grades 1, 2, and 3 Enter the doors near the Garden Sign at the top of the new front stairs
Grades 4 and 5 Use the main school entrance via the new stairs
🕗 DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Once you’ve connected with your child, please exit the school grounds promptly. This helps reduce congestion and allows the next phase of dismissal to run smoothly.
🚘 CAR LINE COURTESY
Please remain in your vehicle if you are in the car line.
Do not lean on any cars waiting in the line.
Be respectful of families who are waiting in their cars by keeping the area clear and moving efficiently.
🕔 Car line dismissal will begin approximately 5 minutes after regular dismissal to allow time for foot traffic and family pickups to clear the area safely
Student Walk-Out for Car Line:
Students being picked up in the car line will be walked down by supervising staff approximately 5 minutes after the dismissal bell.
To allow this process to happen safely and on time, it is essential that other families leave promptly after pickup.
Sidewalk Safety:
The sidewalk must remain clear for students and staff. If you are waiting for your child, please wait on the grass—not on the sidewalk—to avoid blocking the flow of dismissal.

🚷 Do not walk through the parking lot – safety risk due to construction
🚸 Use the marked crosswalks and be cautious of vehicles
VISITOR PROTOCOLS
All families and visitors must use the new front stairs
♿ Call the office ahead if using the handicap entrance
🏗️ If any issues with construction workers arise, please notify the school office
