About Me (I am the one in the center above)
This will be my 15th year of teaching-- 11th at the Early College.
I was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Northern Virginia.
I have lived in the Asheville area with my husband Justin since 1996.
Both of my children went through the Early College program (and earned an associate's degree), so I am a believer as both a teacher and a parent.
I have 4 dogs, 3 cats, 6 goats, 2 sheep, a snake, a bearded dragon and a pond full of goldfish. I think I have a problem.
Before I became a teacher, I was a waitress, a bartender, a baker, a propagationist and horticulturist, a ski and snowboard tech, and a landscaper.
I love to read -- especially Appalachian Lit and Gothic Lit. The darker the better. And, I bet I can make you love Shakespeare. Ask your student.
I love to travel. The picture above and on the main page were taken in June of 2023 when I took 80 students, parents, and teachers to Italy and Greece. Spain is the next destination on our list-- keep your ears peeled if you are interested!
The school library is housed in my classroom. Everyone is welcome to borrow! I am also very open to book donations.
