We had the benefit of having our project highlighted several times in our local paper. This helped drum up excitement in the community. Everyone seemed to enjoy thinking of their time at the "Marshall Pool."
Utilizing brainstorming sessions, coaching from RootED and our own in school support, combined with reaching out to community stakeholders helped drive our new mission: to recover a lost recreational facility that held great memories for our older residents.
Working with the Town of Marshall, we were able to find support for our participation in bringing this fondly remembered facility back to life.
Our students interviewed members in the community to gather oral history accounts of the Marshall Park. This video is an interview by Izzy Fanning. She interviewed Nancy Allen about her experience at the Marshall Park.
Now to bring all the pieces together and create something our students will tell their children about.
Our Superintendent Dr. Will Hoffman and our Principal Jennifer Caldwell make some opening remarks at our Diving Into Marshall Memories kickoff event.
Jay Korreck from Constructive Learning Design helps us document the event.
We also made the paper, again. The article celebrated our successful night!
