Meet Shannon Avey

My name is Shannon Avey and I am very excited to be part of the MTA family!

This is a picture of me and my son, Simon, at the Japanese Friendship Garden. He is 16 years old and attends the IB program at Ironwood High School.

I love to travel. This summer I went to Oregon to work on a small garden. Here I am hiking in the rain at Tamolitch Falls and Blue Pool. The water is truly that shade of brilliant blue!

I'm also involved in the Local Food movement of Urban Farming. If you ever have questions about how to grow fruits and vegetables in your backyard, let me know. I'd love to help!
