Big Ideas Math

Big Ideas Math is designed to engage and enrich both teachers and students’ mathematical understanding with comprehensive, seamless, and cohesive math progressions from kindergarten through fifth grade. Big Ideas is aligned to the Alabama mathematics standards and is a state approved textbook.  

Alabama Inspire Science

The Alabama Inspire Science resource is aligned to the 2023 Science Alabama Course of Study, Alabama Inspire Science engages elementary students in hands-on learning through real-world connections. Alabama Inspire Science is a state approved resource used in grades K-5 along with the AMSTI, Alabama Mathematics, Science and Technology Initiative, state approved science kits. 

Studies Weekly

Studies Weekly is a student-friendly core Social Studies curriculum organized thematically to the strands of civics and government, geography, economics, and history. It is aligned to Alabama Social Studies Standards and is listed as an approved resource on the most recent state approved listing for Social Studies textbooks. 

iReady

iReady is an approved benchmark assessment that is utilized in grades K-5 to assess reading and math progress three times a year. Once a student completes an assessment, a personalized learning path is established for that student which allows for independent practice. Teachers can also access additional resources through iReady to reteach and/or challenge students based upon the individual data. 

mClass

mClass (Dibels 8th) is an approved Early Years assessment that is administered in grades K-3, in addition to iReady, to measure early reading skills. mClass is also administered three times a year.  mClass also offers a bank of resources that can be referenced by teachers to address student needs based upon assessment results. 

Clever

Clever offers one, secure place for elementary students to access all textbooks and other resources. Parents can review all apps included in the Madison City Schools Clever platform when the student is logged in to the Madison City issued 1 to 1 device.
