Participant Behavior Guidelines:
MSCR After-school Programs' goal is to create a safe and supportive environment for every participant. We are dedicated to helping each participant succeed, which requires the combined efforts of everyone involved. Our staff will model positive communication skills and guide participants in resolving conflicts through words rather than actions.
If a participant’s behavior becomes unacceptable and compromises the safety of themselves or others, the following steps will be taken:
Staff will make every effort to prevent and resolve problems, addressing behavior issues directly with the participant to find a positive solution.
If the behavior persists, escalates, or becomes severe, the participant’s parent or guardian will be contacted and required to pick them up.
Before the participant returns to the program, a meeting with the site director, parents, and the participant will be scheduled to create a behavior plan. This plan will outline appropriate behaviors, consequences, and rewards for maintaining positive actions.
If unacceptable behaviors continue, the participant may face a suspension of 1-5 days, depending on the severity of the incident, as determined by the site director.
The MSCR Site Director is committed to ensuring the safety of all participants and will promptly communicate with parents/guardians if any issues arise. If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with the site director using the contact information provided below:

"Always consider a student's experiences and perspectives when they engage in challenging behavior. Remember that they aren't giving you a hard time; they're having a hard time."
