Office number: 204-1200

Dismissal time:

For the first two days of school, dismissal will be at 1:55.

Otherwise, for the rest of the year, Monday dismissal time is 1:55, the rest of the week it is 3:27.

Snacks

Students may bring a small, nutritional snack everyday. This year our classroom will be a peanut free classroom. Therefore, the snacks your child brings to school MUST be peanut free for the safety of all children. The snack should be something that your child can eat in about 5 minutes. Students may also bring a water bottle to keep in class.

Home Folder

Every Friday, your child will bring home his/her “Home Folder”. This folder will be a way to communicate back and forth. Notes, homework, and finished school work will come home through this folder. Your child will need to bring their folder back to school every Monday. Sometimes, the folder will come home during the week if there happens to be timely information that needs to go home before Friday.

Homework, Homework, Homework

At the 2nd grade level, we believe children at this age do not need a lot of homework. The following are things your child will be expected to do at home:

  • Read for 20 minutes daily (read to self, read to someone, listen to reading)
  • Complete any unfinished assignments from class
  • Review basic math facts
  • Play outside with family and friends!

Birthdays

If your child wishes to bring a treat to celebrate his/her birthday, that is fine. Please be mindful that our classroom is peanut free. When bringing a special treat to school, please bring all appropriate things necessary to pass out to the entire class ( napkins, plates, knife, etc.). This would be much appreciated!
