Teaching Currently: Sophomore ELA Honors, or ELA 2(H), teachers this year. I teach ELA 2(H) during Periods 4,5, and 6, in room 401.
I was born in Los Angeles, but moved to Atwater, California when I was still young. This was followed by moving to Merced for College. I currently live in Fresno with my Husband, our Son, and a gaggle of pets. I received my A.A. in English from Merced Junior College, and traveled onto U.C. Merced to receive my B.A. in Literature(English), with a minor in Chicano Studies(Spanish). After finishing up at U.C. Merced, I ventured onto National University where I received my credential to teach English, as well as my Master's in Teaching Mathematics.
I have taught in 4 different districts throughout our valley, and I have to say, Madera is by far, my favorite. I have also taught every grade, in some capacity, from Kindergarten to Senior. In my short teaching career I have taught: Kindergarten-6th grade Reading Lab, 7th and 8th grade English, 9th grade Mathematics (Both Regular and Honors), 9th-12th grade English, and 10th grade English (Honors).
The quote that has become my new favorite is: "Not fragile like a flower, but fragile like a bomb". This quote applies to everyone and everything. For me it means that we are not flowers to be fussed over and protected, but bombs that can go off at any time so should be handled with care.
