Courses & Credit: The student will complete the courses listed on the first page of the agreement during the semester and will meet with the teacher online daily one-on-one or in small groups. At that meeting, the current or previous week’s work will be discussed and new assignments will be reviewed. Alternative methods of reporting to the teacher must be pre-arranged on a basis of need. Course objectives will be consistent with MUSD guidelines. Credit is based upon the completion of assigned work and tests. Learning objectives are consistent with and evaluated in the same manner that they would be if the student were enrolled in a traditional school program and his/her current school.
Attendance: The minimum amount of work to be completed each week is five (5) assigned days (dependent on week length). Attendance will be monitored through an attendance log kept by the parent and verified by the teacher after completed work has been successfully submitted. Attendance is based on the amount of work submitted and not on seat time. Assigned work may be turned in late for full academic credit only if prior arrangements have been made with the teacher. Meetings with the teacher will be scheduled according to the needs of the student. A minimum of one meeting each week is expected so that the teacher may monitor student progress. The maximum time allowed between the assignment date and the due date shall be six (6) weeks or 30 school days, or until the end of the term--whichever is shorter.
Absences: There are no excused absences. Serious illness is the only reason accepted for missed assignments. Parents are to contact the teacher prior to any missed appointment in order to be aware of any new assignments. Students must attend their first meeting with the teacher or they will be dropped immediately. A meeting will be held for any student that fails to comply with the Master Agreement, turns in consistently substandard work, and/or continually misses assigned scheduled meetings. Any student who falls 15 days behind will be evaluated to determine if Independent Study is the appropriate strategy for the student, or if a return to a seat time program is in his/her best interest.
Supervision: Students under 18 years of age - the student is to be at home and under the supervision of the parent/guardian during the school day and is to stay away from all MUSD campuses unless authorized by the student’s home school.
Tests: The parent/guardian hereby gives permission for the student to be given standardized academic tests as needed and will make arrangements for the student to take the tests at the home school site, as required for proctoring.
Obligations: Students must return all books and take care of any financial obligations to MUSD prior to grades being released.
Compliance: Students’ continued enrollment in this option for Independent Study will be based upon their compliance with all the terms and conditions of this Master Agreement.
Dress-Code: Students must follow all the dress code and discipline policies of MUSD.
Participation: This agreement informs parents/guardians/caregivers that Independent Study is an optional, educational program in which no pupil may be required to participate.

Los métodos alternativos para informar al profesor deben ser acordados previamente en función de las necesidades. Los objetivos del curso serán consistentes con las directrices del MUSD. El crédito se basa en la terminación del trabajo asignado y las pruebas. Los objetivos de aprendizaje son consistentes y evaluados de la misma manera que lo serían si el estudiante estuviera inscrito en un programa escolar tradicional y en su escuela actual.
La cantidad mínima de trabajo que se debe completar cada semana es de cinco (5) días asignados. La asistencia será monitoreada a través de un registro de asistencia llevado por los padres y verificado por el maestro después de que el trabajo completado haya sido entregado exitosamente. La asistencia se basa en la cantidad de trabajo presentado y no en el tiempo de asiento. El trabajo asignado puede ser entregado tarde para obtener crédito académico completo sólo si se han hecho arreglos previos con el maestro. Las reuniones con el profesor se programarán de acuerdo con las necesidades del estudiante. Se espera un mínimo de una reunión semanal para que el profesor pueda controlar el progreso del alumno. El tiempo máximo permitido entre la fecha de asignación y la fecha de vencimiento será de seis (6) semanas o 30 días escolares, o hasta el final del trimestre, lo que sea más corto.
No hay ausencias justificadas. Una enfermedad grave es la única razón aceptada para faltar a las tareas. Los padres deben ponerse en contacto con el profesor antes de cualquier cita perdida para traer y recoger las nuevas tareas. Los estudiantes deben asistir a su primera reunión con el profesor, o serán dados de baja inmediatamente. Se llevará a cabo una reunión para cualquier estudiante que no cumpla con el Acuerdo Maestro, entregue constantemente trabajos de baja calidad, y/o falte continuamente a las reuniones programadas asignadas. Cualquier estudiante que se atrase 15 días será evaluado para determinar si el Estudio Independiente es la estrategia apropiada para el estudiante o si el regreso a un programa de tiempo de asiento es en su mejor interés.
Estudiantes menores de 18 años: El estudiante debe estar en casa o bajo la supervisión del padre/tutor durante el día escolar y debe mantenerse alejado de todos los campus de MUSD a menos que sea autorizado por la escuela del estudiante.
El padre/tutor por la presente da permiso para que el estudiante reciba pruebas académicas estandarizadas según sea necesario y hará los arreglos para que el estudiante tome las pruebas en el sitio de la escuela de origen, como se requiere para proctoring.
Los estudiantes deben devolver todos los libros y hacerse cargo de cualquier obligación financiera a MUSD antes de que las calificaciones sean liberadas o los registros enviados a otras escuelas.
La inscripción continua de los estudiantes en esta opción de Estudio Independiente se basará en su cumplimiento de todos los términos y condiciones de este Acuerdo Maestro.
Los estudiantes deben seguir todas las políticas de código de vestimenta y disciplina de MUSD.
Este acuerdo informa a los padres/tutores/cuidadores que el Estudio Independiente es un programa educativo opcional en el que ningún alumno puede ser obligado a participar.
