Ceramic & Molded Liners

Engineering ceramics have a growing application potential for the wear-protection of working parts of extraction, processing, conveying, and dust collection equipment and piping systems in mining and mineral industries.

The Alumina, Zirconia, Alumina-Zirconia, and Silicon carbide-based ceramics have high hardness and mechanical properties, excellent wear-and corrosion resistance at wet or dry working conditions, at high velocity and turbulence of transported materials, high pressure and cavitation. They provide significantly longer life cycle than many other materials widely used in the mining and mineral processing. The ceramics components may be manufactured in accordance with the customer design and requirement as monolithic bodies with the complicated shapes, and as tiles.

Mining and mineral processing companies including companies working in the ores, coal, oil, and other industries note significant losses due to wear- and corrosion- related damages of production equipment. These damages result in unscheduled shutdowns and replacement of the destroyed parts, decrease of productivity and quality of the processed materials. Traditionally used hard irons and steels and some polymers are quickly destroyed, especially, if the processed hard particles are transported in liquid corrosive environment, at high velocity and pressure, turbulence and cavitation.

Engineering ceramics have a growing application potential for the wear- and corrosion-protection of different working parts of extraction, processing, conveying and dust collection equipment piping systems in mining and mineral industries. They have high mechanical properties; e.g. hardness, general chemical inertness, and they are able to work at severe thermal conditions. The mostly wide-used ceramics for the wear-protection are basalt, dense or low-porous alumina and some other oxide based ceramics, non-oxide ceramics, such as carbides, nitrides, and some others. The proper ceramics are chosen based on their physical properties, particular application conditions (e.g. corrosive environment, temperature, pressure, velocity and impingement angle of transported materials, etc.), the ability to obtain the required shape, and from the economical standpoint.

We offer customized solution for Industrial heavy duty wear protection using high Alumina based formulation.

The heavy duty Ceramic forms are ideal solution for protection of pipes, elbows and other utilities handling the most aggressive material like mineral slurry, hot slag and flue gases from erosion, corrosion and wear.

Some amount of Silica (SiO2), Magnesia (MgO) and Zirconia (ZrO2) are added to Alumina ceramic as per application requirement.

Alumina Ceramics, commonly called as "Ceramics" is available in following forms

  1. Liners, for chute, hopper, pipe and elbow protection

  2. Rings, for small dia pipes

  3. Pastes, for vessels and tanks

  4. Sheets, for equipment protection

  5. Sleeves for cables

We also offer the conventional UHMWPE liners.
