Finalist at 'Top Arts' 2022

The oil on canvas painting explores the notion of conformity as a means of belonging. The European composition, heavily inspired by artist James Abbott McNeill Whistler's Symphony in Flesh Colour and Pink, along with the insertion of my form as a woman of colour, is a nod to the loss of cultural identity through adopting the language and practices in the dominate western world.
