This work depicts my great-grandfather who was a participant in World War II. His ghostly image is a representation of the thousands of soldiers who have suffered the brutal consequences of war. The fragmentation of my great-grandfather's image as the blood red/burnt orange colours seep through his façade visually alludes to the pain, fear and trauma that these soldiers were forced to endure.
