In PE, students are on the move! This semester, students maximized their time in class by running the fun run, learning new games and working on strength and endurance. Our emphasis was on fun and how to be a better teammate and friend to each other. In 3rd-5th grade, students worked on designing their own games and teaching them to their classmates. I was impressed by their creativity! Next up, over the winter months, we will move some of our fitness activities inside, in the Great Hall. Our amazing creative movement teacher, Mimi will be working with our students for a short unit. I am so impressed with the way she intergrates her curriculum for the students. I am eager to continue working with these kids!
Our Middle School students have been working hard in Physical Education! This quarter, students were engaged in a variety of different activities! We did a kickball and volleyball unit, fitness games as well as the class favorite, "Create a Game". The students get to design their own games to teach to their classmates. They were so fun and creative. Coming up next, we will be engaged in our Creative Dance unit, with our amazing facilitator, Mimi. In addition, an emphasis on team-building and fitness will be an ongoing theme throughout the year. I'm looking forward to continuing to work with this fun groupf of student athletes!
