A View that I Enjoy

“Crazy beautiful” I said to myself as I saw this sunset , while driving by Grandview Heights.

Lately I find myself looking up a lot and really seeing just how crazy beautiful sky colors and patterns are. I know this is in part because I am spending more time outside in the pandemic. I also know that part of it is a shift in horizon, as I have always looked for beauty but tended to see it on the ground or ahead of me.

My favourite view of Edmonton is always the bridge on my way downtown. The nightlife is good enough for photography downtown, but it doesn't get better than right before you get there.

I love sunsets because of the unspoken words they say, "nomatter how bad a day has been, in the end there is beauty in it." When COVID first hit, I would find comfort and hope in every sunset I watched. They gave me hope for tomorrow and kept me going.....

Looking out at this scenery gives you a sense of calmness. The beauty of Alberta really is enjoyable and breathtaking. It seems as though the chipmunks enjoy the view from the edge as well.

The last overseas trip I took before the pandemic was to Croatia. Plitvice Lakes, otherwise known as "the land of the falling lakes" has some beautiful trails that wind through a series of stunning waterfalls. I'm so grateful that I was able to see them first hand, as it truly is a magical place.

This image is of Lynn Valley's 50 foot pool. I used to live in Vancouver and have many fond childhood memories at this valley. Last September I had the opportunity to take my partner to this valley and show them an important piece of my childhood. I also proposed to my partner at that time, so the view of the water holds another special memory for me.

The reason I chose this image to submit is because when I first started attending Macewan, I fell in love with not only the campus, but where the campus is located. Ever since I was a little kid, downtown Edmonton has always been one of my favourite places to be. The neon sign museum is located minutes away from campus, and the bright, neon signs always makes me feel incredibly happy to be in Edmonton.

I took this picture in Radium , BC this past summer. It was a hot, quite, calm summer night and the sunset was absolutely stunning.

This was taken in summer 2021 during one of our many thunderstorms. I sat on my covered porch for hours trying to get the perfect shot of lighting. It was so cool to experience a thunderstorm while being outside but still covered and this image captures that feeling.

This image was taken when I was in Hawaii. Every time I looked at it, I hear the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore. It reminds me that life is full of ups and downs and they come and go in waves. No bad time in life lasts forever.

This was taken in Banff over the summer. This image brings me inner tranquility because the water is so calm and it looks like it was straight out of a painting.
