PERPLAB

Processes in Emotion, Recollection, and Violence Perception (PERP) Lab

WELCOME!

Welcome to the PERPLab website, home of research on the darker side of humanity.

Dr. Kristine Peace (KP) and her students conduct a variety of studies pertaining to several core areas of forensic psychology: interpersonal violence, psychopathic traits, emotion processing, memory and legal decision-making. Research in these areas is diverse, yet often overlaps and intersects in interesting ways. Check out the Research Areas dropdown menu for more information on our areas of study. KP also is passionate about dispelling many of the myths regarding forensic psychology (e.g., how the media portrays psychopaths or confounds the way victims "should" act in court) as well as promoting critical thought and analysis of forensic topics.

The PERPLab and Dr. Kristine Peace are based out of MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. MacEwan is an undergraduate university that offers both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science Psychology degrees, including Honours degrees for B.A. and B.Sc. students as well.
