Macalester has allowed me to enthusiastically pursue teaching and mentoring with students that are curious, motivated, and a pleasure to interact with. I love that my research directly supports my teaching efforts: not only do I enjoy incorporating my research into classes (in lectures, labs, readings, and projects), but I believe students gain a much stronger understanding of the material when it is grounded in a very real understanding of how science actually gets accomplished.
