SUNDAYS, beginning October 2. Yoga for Quieting the Mind. In-person, 8wk series. 4-5:15pm. This is a gentle class in the Viniyoga tradition: breath-centered,adaptive, with movement in and out of simple postures for ease and supportiveflow. Come and open to the gift of breathing, and learn effective yoga tools for quieting and softening, even in the midst of turmoil. “Yoga for Quieting the Mind” is appropriate for new and experienced students. THURSDAYS, beginning October 6. Beginning Yoga. In-person, 10wk series. Noon-1pm. This class is open to all beginning students and people returning to yoga, or anyone in need of a gradual or rehabilitative pace. The Beginning Series is an introduction to yoga postures and basic yoga philosophy of body-mind. Through this Series, you will develop deeper awareness of your breathing, your body's capacities, and your mind's patterns. Yoga is a tremendous support for your life -- come and learn for your physical health, and toward greater peace of mind. Cost: $120 for series; $15/class if pay-per-class. Negotiable.
THURSDAYS, Community Yoga. Online, ongoing. 5:30-6:30pm. Since 2014, "Community Yoga" has been a welcoming class for anyone seeking to de-stress in yoga company with others. In 2020, Community Yoga moved online, extending the reach of the class beyond the local! Teachers Jan Mandell and Beth Cleary alternate teaching weeks. In the online class, there is demonstration by the teacher, detailed verbal instruction, and many adaptations suggested for students practicing at home, tailored to your particular needs. Join this class from the comfort of your own home, toward the end of your work week. Cost: Donation, $1-$15/class.
SATURDAYS, Yoga Body Nature. Online, ongoing. 10-11am. YOGA BODY NATURE is a weekly yoga class and community, offering: respite from news and noise; breathing and moving for strength and ease; a practice of solidarity with all beings, human and non-human, on this precious earth. Classes are often themed to the season, and there is acknowledgement of what is challenging in our cities and the wider world. Beth weaves words of great writers with yoga philosophy principles, and introduces pranayama, mantra and mudra practices to deepen focus. Cost: $120 for 12 weeks; $15/class if pay-per-class. Negotiable.
