Getting politically involved in a new city can be daunting if you do not know how the issues play out in your new community or who the power players are to push for change. Joining a community organizing community is a great way to work collaboratively with local people to bring about social change. It will give you a chance to educate yourself about the needs, resources and dynamics of your new community, and will help you network with people who know the political landscape. What a great way to build a social network as well!
