FYI: Professional learning books have moved! You can find them in the low shelves in this corner of the library:
JSTOR provides access to more than 12 million journal articles, books, images, and primary sources in 75 disciplines. (This is a great way to find up-to-date articles on best practice!)
The easiest way to access articles is through a search (click here for search tips), but you can also browse by subject --> publication title.
This includes a ton of resources for teaching history. Here are some screenshots of just the American History section (there are also sections on Modern History, Ancient and Medieval History, and more). There are maps, timelines, databases of primary sources.
There are also some curriculum tools, including activity ideas.
We also have
Britannica Original Sources
This also includes many primary sources (as you'd guess from the name of the resource!).

Here are just some of the things we can do for you:
Pull books. This can be one book, every book by an author, a collection of grade-appropriate books, books about a certain topic... you name it! You can request books by sending an email or putting specific books on hold. We will then deliver the book(s) straight to your classroom!
Create reading lists or research guides for your students.
Help brainstorm, plan, and/or facilitate reading-related events and projects.
Plan library classes to cover skills relevant to your current unit.
Provide space for events (like the animal research project showcase, book talks, poetry slams, etc.).
Provide instruction on research skills or reading strategies. This could mean providing you with materials, team-teaching with you, or teaching the whole lesson (or a series of lessons)!
Order books and other media. Not finding what you want in the library? Fill out this form and we can order what you need. (Note that library orders are for general circulation and will be housed in the library.)
Give book recommendations for specific students!
