Library Policies

Student Check-outs

Each elementary class visits the library twice a week: once for library class (as part of the Specials rotation) and once for check-out.

During library class, students enjoy a read-aloud, then participate in a mini-lesson about information skills.

Middle School ELA classes also visit the library once a week to give students the opportunity to check out books for independent reading.

Students may check out 20 books at a time for a period of two weeks.

Overdues/Fines/Lost Items

The library will send out weekly notices to parents and students via email. Students will also receive printed notices once a quarter.

Once an item is 4 weeks overdue it will be assumed lost and billed to the patron. Every quarter students should clear their accounts of overdue and lost items. If accounts are not clear report cards are held at the end of the semester.

For overdue books, no fine will be charged (please ignore the replacement value that appears on the notice).

Lost items will be charged at the replacement value plus the shipping charge.

Any student with materials and/or fines two weeks overdue will not be allowed to check out any additional materials.
